Evening Courses

Join me each week for a few hours of fun and relaxation.  As with my Saturday art classes, my 4 week evening courses are all about having a play, being curious and discovering what you can do with paint, rather than producing a perfect end result.

What people have to say about my evening courses:

“A great way to re-engage the creative side of your mind, especially if you find it difficult to do this in your own life. Lovely studio, teacher, and lots of equipment and paint.  At the end of the course I felt refreshed, and more creative!”

“A really relaxing, fun and a great way to build your creative confidence if you’re new to painting.”

Painting: Getting Started

Great for you if you haven’t been on any of my classes already, or have just been to one or two.

Week 1: Introducing acrylics – using your hands and brushes
Week 2: Creating texture by printing
Week 3: Experimenting with textured mediums
Week 4: Using other materials with acrylics

Each session starts with lots of warm up exercises to get you started / help you to loosen up after a day at work, and then there will be plenty of time to explore and experiment with the materials and techniques available.

At the end of the course you will have learned a lot about working with acrylic and what it can do as a medium, and have lots of ideas about how you can continue to make your own art with confidence at home.

Painting: Build On It

A great continuation evening course from my Painting: Getting Started 4 week course, or if you have been to a few of my art classes or my monthly Painting Group already.  Join me each week for a few hours of fun and relaxation and work on your own project or projects at a relaxed pace over 4 weeks.

The aim of this course is to really continue to build on your creative confidence and get you used to painting on a regular basis, so that it will be easier for you to continue painting at home.  There is no overall structure, the course will be tailored around you and what you would like to get from it.  You will be continuing to use the acrylic paints and mixed mediums introduced in the Getting Started evening course.

At the end of the course you will have between 1 and 8 finished pieces, discovered more about how you like to work and your creative preferences and style, will feel confident to make more work at home (and will probably be figuring out how to create your own mini studio at home too)!
